At every point in time in your career growth, there's always a need to identify or discover someone or a group of people I consider to be midfielder(s).
These people I called the midfielder(s) mostly have the influencing power to help you finish a goal you have set in motion to achieve.
They are an important element to help you in your pursuit of achieving success, sometimes they are powerful to make your career, life or purpose pursuit an easy one.
They can be found at every point of our life and work progress.
They know you and you can find them in the environment where you reside, workplace, schools and even fun places.
They can have a negative or positive impact on your personal or career progress.
Midfielders travel the greatest distance to help you achieve a goal and even support you both morally and financially. Not only do you have to set a goal but you must play it in motion because only when you start something from somewhere that the midfielders can then play their part to support you in attaining your vision.
But mind you a midfielder can play a temporary role or systemic role in your life purpose. And it's very important to discover them and build ways to keep and honour them and not take them for granted.
Now let me give a short scenario of what I mean;
In a family a mother or father or siblings can play a part of a midfielder in your career journey, any of them must be interested or see value in whatever you want to do and trust me they will go the extra mile to motivate and sometimes provide you with the resources to attain the height of what you want to achieve.

A real-life scenario I would like to share is about this man in the picture (The one on the cap). He was the Headmaster of the school I am being posted to as a Teach for Nigeria fellow before he was recently transferred to another school.
During his tenure and my time with him as a teacher at his school, I consider him to be a midfielder towards my career exploits in the school.
Like I have said earlier in this write-up, midfielders at most times have the influencing power to either support or mar your goals, most especially if they do not see the value in the work you bring or do.
As someone interested and seeing value in impacting the young generation with digital skills, I couldn't hide it than to bring it onboard into my fellowship with Teach For Nigeria.
I support the Computer teacher of my school in teaching pupils in school on basic computer usage and skills.
He watched and at some intervals I noticed he came during my teaching process with learners to see what I was doing and he knows and believes in the value I was putting on the table.
"𝐼𝑓 𝑡𝒉𝑒 𝑣𝑎𝑙𝑢𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑎𝑛 𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑎 𝑖𝑡'𝑠 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑓𝑖𝑔𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝑜𝑢𝑡, 𝑖𝑡 𝑤𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑏𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑠𝒉𝑒𝑑 𝑑𝑜𝑤𝑛 𝑖𝑛 𝑡𝒉𝑒 𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑘" - 𝑂𝑙𝑎𝑑𝑎𝑝𝑜 𝑂𝑚𝑖𝑡𝑜𝑔𝑢𝑛.
At some period whenever I want to train the learners on computer usage, we have this everyday power outage challenge and he supports the cause by buying us petrol to put into the generator.
At the end of the school session last term, to my surprise, he supported us by making a projector available in the school.
He's no more the headmaster of our school but I still keep in touch with him and hopefully, our paths could cross in achieving a project or goal together in the future.
So like I have said a midfielder travels the greatest distance to help you achieve a goal if the value of the goal you must have already set in motion is being valued.

To have a midfielder like my headmaster, It's important to have a clarity of purpose in the plan and set it in motion and attract the right midfielder to help you reach the promised land in attaining your goal.
