There's nothing like a poor school but a mediocre mind.
I will like to share a story here to depict what I am saying...
Before attending my first degree. I was a novice knowing the tertiary institution that are available and choosing the one that was best for me. When I got to fill out my first and my final JAMB form, the school being selected was filled in for me by a family friend. I have already gotten admitted before I realised most students that got admitted into my school didn't like the school, some were there either because they have stayed at home for so long and they can't wait any longer than to get ahead in their academic pursuit.
It was after finishing school that I came to realise that there is nothing like a poor or better school. It is left to you to figure out yourself and no school will promise you the assurance of success. If we research vividly no school doesn't have any past students that are not doing amazingly well around the world but if we hear their stories, we will find out is more than their academic achievement. The likes of Tobi Amusan, Tony O. Elumelu, C.O.N, Mo Abudu, 'Bosun Tijani, Folawe Omikunle, Sunday Olorunsheyi, Bill Gates, Warren Edward Buffett, Elon Musk and some great leaders that we have around the world today, no doubt all came out of one school and they are affecting the world positively one way or the other. But if we are to leave it to their academic qualification I'm sure most of the giant strides they have achieved today will not have seen the test of time.
I believe it takes more than just going to a big or well-known school but your ability to discover yourself and tap into every opportunity you can find to grow and solve problems.
Most students that might still take their school to be inferior are either going through difficult times or they failed to realize the importance of life skills to academic achievement.
Getting to live a useful life depends on how you open your minds to the possibility around you and I would never forget a platform called Enactus Nigeria I discovered back in school that has shaped the way I think and view the world around me.
Voluntary organisations and platforms are good places you can find yourself and be a unique individual. They can be found in most higher institutions and communities around you. Some of them are JCI, Rotary Club, Toastmasters International, AIESEC, Lions Clubs International Foundation, e.t.c
I believe anyone can achieve success and be an inspiration to others and the school you attend doesn't most time mean you will be successful.
